FAQ

  • Hours of Studio
The art studio is not always opened. we will be open Tuesday and Thursday evenings for pre-purchased classes. We will be open every other Saturday for walk in customers.
  • Do you require any art experience?
That is the beauty of our classes. They are arranged in age groups, children and adult events and NO painting experience is required. Our events/classes are a time to come and play with paint on different surfaces. they are not classes taught about colour theory, mixing paints and mediums. They are to come and enjoy and get messy.
  • What would I bring to a class?
Primarily, just you with your inner creativity waiting to show you can put on canvas. Our studio will provide all supplies provided including canvases, mixed paint, cups, gloves, and tools. in most cases, snacks and drinks may be provided.
  • What type of paint is used?
Our studio works with non toxic Acrylic paint only. We mix the paint with a medium to make it 'fluid'. For the items that we resin, usually the ceramic coasters, we use a food grade safe resin that ok for hot and cold items for them to be use for.
  • What happens if I have to cancel?
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide refunds for classes purchased. You are welcome to transfer your attendance to another person or use the purchase for another class within 7 days.
  • How long is the class?
Each class will be 1.5 hours. After a brief demonstration, you will have access to the materials and paint and create. Some parties may linger depending on whether there is another scheduled afterwards. If you attend one of the winery or restaurant events, you are more than welcome to attend before and stay after the class at the venue to enjoy the food and beverages they offer.
  • Items that require a resin finish.
For most coaster projects, they will need a resin finish. The coasters will need 3 days for the paint to dry and I will resin them after that. the resin coat takes another 3 days to dry. The coaster will be available for pick up no more that a week from the class date.
  • Reuse, Recycle, Repurpose
In most of my pieces, I use recycled and repurposed items. I am trying to do my part by not throwing things in landfill. All my coasters come from contractors that do not need them as they have completed their projects and can not return them, so they go into the landfill. I find a new purpose for them and give them a new lease on life. The same goes for my dish ware and tray items.
